In this video I go over how to replace the ignition coils on my 2002 Mustang GT with the 4.6L V8 engine. Also note that there is no need to remove the fuel rails to complete this project. This engine uses a coil on plug ignition pack for each spark plug and over time they can go bad. The original ones in my Mustang lasted close to 100k miles before the first one began to fail causing a misfire and check engine light. If one is starting to go bad, others likely to go bad soon so best to replace all at the same time. I decided to stay with OEM replacement parts and ordered new Motorcraft parts, #DG-508. I ordered them from my local auto parts store but you may also be able to find them on Amazon. Follow my guide for the basic steps to replace each one and project should take less than 30 minutes.
