https://www.buymeacoffee.com/TJH3113 The first time I heard this song was via a YouTube bass cover a couple of years ago by my friend, Duilkin. Here's the link - • Jenny was a friend of mine - The Killers I liked it a lot and had a go at playing it myself but didn't think I did a terribly good job with it. It's been in the back of my mind since then. A few weeks ago, I caught a bit of a Killers' concert on the music channel, Palladia. The show was from the Royal Albert Hall. I saw this song and was really impressed, once again, at how upfront and aggressive the bass was and was inspired to have another crack at it. I also could not help noticing that the bass player was playing a Geddy Lee Signature Jazz Bass. I've seen a number of pros using the GL signatures, David Bowie's and Nine Inch Nails' bassists are two that come to mind, but I know there are more, and think that speaks volumes about the quality and sound of the bass. I think the price is quite reasonable as well. The Killers tune down a half step, which I'm not a fan of doing, so I just tuned my E string to Eb and played the whole song in that key which prevented me from doing some of the harmonic stuff he does in the break towards the end of the song. I made a few feeble attempts to fill the space when I should have just sat out. The bass player's name is Mark Stoermer and the song was off their 2004 album, Hot Fuss.
