(First Kernow's Last Day) Preserved Truronian Transbus Pointer 2 Dennis Dart SLF: TT03 TRU

On February 14th, 2026, First Kernow (Which has also been known in the past as First Devon And Cornwall, As well as Western National), Ceased operations in the county - Ending a history spanning nearly 100 years of operation. Having been to the area multiple times since 2022 or so, I've travelled with Kernow many times, enjoying the wonderful network they had to offer - So when I heard they were closing, Myself and two friends (Zack and Joe) made the 12+ hour journey over for the last day. Our fifth and final ride of the day, was the second of two Preserved vehicles that had been pulled out to say farewell to Kernow, by both Cornwall Bus Preservation Society and Thames Valley & Great Western Omnibus Trust, With TRU owned by the latter. She was new to Truronian in March 2003, To replace fellow dart P454 SCV after a fire. When FirstGroup purchased Truronian in 2008, she became 42860, and swapped her Reds and Blues for the Pinks of First Barbie - Also later wearing a celebrity Great Western Railway livery! She later transferred to Buses Of Somerset in 2018, to live out her final days in service, before being withdrawn and sold for scrap in 2019. luckily, this wasn't to be, as Cornwall Bus Preservation Society's Chairman, Mel, managed to negotiate with the dealer it had went to, and it was sold into preservation shortly after. A full restoration was carried out in 2022 and 2023 to bring back it's original livery, and was completed in time for that year's Penzance Vintage Bus Day, And it's now a regular appearance at events all across the South West (Although surprisingly, I'm seemingly the first to ever record it in it's newer livery). Either way, Enjoy my final ever journey with First Kernow - And a montage of some of my best memories.
