D. Dentuti - Sweet Fables [ORIGINAL COMPOSITION]

-- Preface -- Sweet Fables is an orchestral suite composed between November 2023 and April 2024 by Davide Dentuti (Tsukuyomi). The main reason behind the start of this suite was unexpected; due to a lack of inspiration during his breakup period, the composer tried to recover from the pain by writing the Piano Concerto No 1 (DISCARDED), which temporarely disabled his composer block. But, unfortunately for him, the Piano Concerto No 1 received negative critics from people who didn't understand that the piece was a musical venting, hence deterioring even more Tsukuyomi's emotional health. Desperate, he had the idea of composing an easy-to-understand piece that everyone could understand and enjoy. The piece in question is, of course, Little Red Riding Hood, that opens the suite with a rich and harmonious C major chord. A month after finishing the first piece, the composer thought it would have been nice to compose a whole suite of orchestrated fables, leading him to search for other fables, which are The Little Match Girl and Wolf! Wolf. The first piece, Little Red Riding Hood, is full of intricate meanings, even more than the other two pieces, because the whole piece can either be considered as a postlude to Little Red Riding Hood's funeral or a grandma telling her child the story, hence explaining the celesta finale that is the grandma closing the book and wishing her grandson a goodnight. The second piece on the other hand isn't as philosophical as the first one but follows the story musically and rethorically, just like in the third piece, where dramatic orchestration and ambiental textures blend together into one thing, sometimes even using Wagner's Tristan Chord and non functional harmony all in the same place.
