A Late Fall Hike in Maine w Ocean Views | Mount Battie to Mount Megunticook, Camden Hills State Park

For this hike, I took the steep Mt Battie trail up the side of Mt Battie to the tower. Next, I crossed over the summit area to meet up with the Tablelands Trail to the Ocean Lookout on Mount Megunticook. In late fall, there were wet rocks, mud and ice, so I advise caution if you go before the snow packs down over the ice. Once I finished enjoying the amazing views from the lookout, I also decided to take the trail down to the entrance of Camden Hills State Park, then walked along the road back to the parking area near town for my original trailhead. This route was so much fun and avoided going down the steeper Mt. Battie trail with icy rocks. It may take a few minutes longer, but that was worth it for me.
