Making a Retirement Chessboard | How My Process Has Evolved

In this video, I show how I tailor a chessboard that will be a retirement gift for my client's father. I had the beginnings of a chessboard that I had started for another client a couple of years ago when he canceled the order, so this gave me the opportunity to make use of that board and tailor a frame with personalizations. The chess board squares were made from Bolivian rosewood and curly maple, and they were glued onto a 3/4" plywood substrate. The frame was made from black walnut and inlaid an ebony shamrock and carved gold leaf initials of the father. It also has algebraic notation inlaid with white ash. Throughout the video, I show examples of how my process has evolved over the years to make me more efficient and to augment my capabilities.
