Instagram: @HerbandRootsGardening In this video I show how to propagate and grow bushier SCINDAPSUS PICTUS ‘ARGYRAEUS’ otherwise known as Philodendron Silver. Another popular variety of SCINDAPSUS PICTUS is ‘EXOTICA’ also known as Satin Pothos. The great thing about common names is that anything goes!! Light: Give Scindapsus pictus bright, indirect light year-round. Harsh direct sunlight will scorch its leaves, while too-little light will cause the leaves to lose their variegation. Water: Water thoroughly and allow the top 2 inches of soil to dry out between waterings. Keep soil barely moist in winter. Yellow leaves can be symptom of overwatering. Use room-temperature rain water when watering houseplants for best results but tap water will work as well if that's what you've got. Make sure to provide good drainage. Humidity: Try to maintain 40-50% relative humidity around your plant. Use of a room humidifier can be very beneficial in Winter when indoor air is driest. Temperature: Average to warm 65-85°F/18-29°C. Don't expose Satin Pothos to temperatures below 60°F/16°C. Cold air will damage the foliage of this tropical plant. Soil: Use all-purpose well draining houseplant potting mix. I usually use a standard potting mix and add extra perlite or sand. Fertilizer: Feed monthly a couple of times in Spring and Summer with 20-10-10 water-soluble fertilizer diluted by half. Propagation: Plants can be propagated in water or soil. Single nodes can be propagated but longer lengths of vine can also be successfully propagated. Cuttings root easily in about a month. #PhilodendronSilver #Bushy #Houseplants
