With the Karen Read 2.0 Trial looming in the near future, I thought it might be handy to re-stream the First Trial and Refresh our Recollections going in to 2.0. The Karen Read murder trial opened Monday in Norfolk Superior Court. A jury will consider whether Read killed her boyfriend, Boston Police Officer John O'Keefe, outside a home in Canton, Massachusetts, as the prosecution alleges, while her lawyers will work to show, as they've long contended, that she is innocent, the victim of a large-scale cover-up. After opening statements, prosecutors called the first three witnesses: O'Keefe's brother, Paul; Paul's wife, Erin O'Keefe; and Canton Police Officer Steven Saraf.
