A protest by Ambedkar Student association(ASA), a student body, has entered 21st day outside VC office, Panjab University Chandigarh. ASA members have three main demands from the university. First demand: PU administration should release degrees of Dalit Bahujan students who were covered under Post Matric Scholarship scheme. PU is not releasing degrees citing non-payment of scholarship money by state government while students are claiming that payment of scholarship issue should be sorted by the university and administration. Students should not be made to suffer due to the administrative issues. Second demand: Dalit Bahujan students from Haryana should be admitted in university without paying any fees. University administration is not implementing Post Matric Scholarship scheme while Haryana government is ready to pay fees for Dalit Bahujan students. Third demand: Reservation in hostel allotment should be implemented properly and seats that were provided to Dalit Bahujan students in SC/ST hostel should be adjusted in other hostels. University administration have not found a solution for the issue and told Dalit Bahujan students to move their protest from outside VC office to designated protest site.
