021 New Church. Any church can become a New Church as it receives the Holy Spirit. A friend of mine from church recently had to spend three weeks as part of the ministry team in an Anglo Catholic Church. I have not had time to catch up with him to find out how it went, but my initial reaction was to groan! However I felt chastised by The Holy Spirit at my reaction. “Any Church’” I felt Him saying, “Any Church is My Church and I use the most formal and correct and also the most noisy and chaotic to speak to My people. All I ask is that they have their hearts open to receive My Spirit.” So I was chastised and said ‘Come Holy Spirit’ and reflected on the many times I have sat in passive negativity during a vibrant time of Spirit filled worship. I have included in this at the end two short videos by Graham Kendrick. I had prepared them for this ministry but then at the time I felt we had seen enough videos, but I saw no reason not to include them here. May God bless you and may your church be a New Church every time you gather and receive God’s Holy Spirit.
