Mac Tontoh's Solo on Ayiko Bia

Mac Tontoh was one of the pioneers of the fusion of African and western music.He was a Ghanian by birth and arguably one of the leading and prestigious hornmen in Africa. He played with Comet band led by his brother Tessy Ossei,he played with Uhuru dance band and also ran his own small jazz combo. He later travelled to Europe where his brother ,himself and Sol Amarfio formed a band called the Osibisa.This was a band that toured the world with grand breaking fusion of African music and western music. After several years of living in London and touring ,he decided to return to Ghana where he formed a new band and got busy with the band until his death in August 2010. Mac Tontoh's solo on Ayiko Bia was a responsorial solo approach with a demonstration of mastery of the blues.He ended the solo with a super long trill which was one of the major identity. filmed by @prince Akintayo John Enjoy the solo.
