Surat Railway Station Update | Surat Station Redevelopment | Surat Station Platform 2 & 3 Reopening

Today we are giving an important update about redevelopment and beautification of Surat railway station. Two platforms platform number 2 and platform number 3 that were closed for redevelopment have now been opened. Surat railway station and junction station code ST is being redeveloped under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, a central government scheme that aims at modernise, beautify and improve passenger amenities at station. This scheme covers 1309 stations across the country. As Surat ralway station is an important railway station on busy Ahmedabad Mumbai corridor closure of 2 out of 4 platform was significantly dosturbing traffic. With the closure of platforms halt of 115 trains were shifted to nearby Udhna Junction Railway Station UDN. It was adding to the crowd of Udhna railway station and Udhna Junction was getting 80000 footfalls everyday. With the opening, the number of footfalls has reduced to 40000.
