Timeout Weekend: Kichijoji and Shimo-Kitazawa

I first went Kichijoji some years ago and found really affordable items that time. I even saw some formal dresses with price tags I haven't seen in other places around Tokyo (Ok maybe I haven't search hard enough 😅). And then just recently, my team mates and I went to Kichijoji again to celebrate the birthday of a special person in the team in the number 1 Russian restaurant in Tokyo! Going home, we stopped by Shimo-Kitazawa and walked all the way to Ikejiri Ohashi. It was quite late that time and needless to say I wanted to explore the area more! And so after just three days, here I am with ma'am Anna exploring Kichijoji and Shimo-kitazawa area! Kichijoji is a sub-urban neighborhood in the outskirts of Tokyo with a lot of commercial establishment. There are a lot of cafes and affordable stuff around the area! If you are lookinh for comfortable and laidback afternoon stroll, Kichijoji is the place! Shimo-Kitazawa is about 10 minute ride from Kichijoji and just around 3 minutes ride from Shibuya via Inokashira Line. It is known for its hip-culture and vintage shops! There are also a lot pf aspiring musicians who practice around the area. The first time I went there (with my team mates) we saw a lot of students pulling huge cases of musical instruments. So if you are a fan of vintage and has the patience to go through heaps of stuff for a good find, consider going to Shimo-Kitazawa! 😊😊😊
