There are hundreds of drone manufacturers operating in Ukraine , creating a wide range of drones, forming an arsenal of different models. Ukrainian "birds" are flying from all sides. Analysts see both pros and cons in this process, writes Business Insider . Ukraine produces most of its drones domestically, which is critical given the role drones play in the war and the instability of Western aid. According to official figures, 96% of the 1.5 million drones purchased last year were made in Ukraine, often in workshops and garages. Ukraine has simplified the transfer of technology to the military by bypassing traditional bureaucratic procedures. Many units obtain drones through crowdfunding, buying civilian models. As a result, Ukrainian operators use a wide range of drones with different characteristics. Dimko Zhluktenko, a drone operator for the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Troops, said he used several types of drones, mostly Ukrainian-made, with a small amount of Chinese components. Another operator said he used only three types of reconnaissance drones. Zhluktenko notes that the Russians' smaller variety of models makes their drones more vulnerable: "It's very easy for us to surprise them." The slow pace of innovation in Russia allows Ukraine to more effectively find ways to counteract them. James Patton Rogers of Cornell University explains that having fewer drone models makes it easier for Russia to identify them, study their signals, and develop electronic warfare capabilities. "If you have all these different drones, and they're from different manufacturers, and they're super high-tech, you have an advantage," he says. Decentralized production makes it harder for Russian strikes to destroy. "It makes it much harder to pinpoint where drones are being produced and take out, say, one large factory at a time," Rogers adds. Competition between Ukrainian manufacturers stimulates innovation. New models are constantly appearing, in particular drones with artificial intelligence, without GPS, fiber optic drones, unmanned ground and sea vehicles. Alexander Pislar, commander of the attack drones of the 33rd Airborne Assault Regiment, acknowledges the problem of a large number of manufacturers: "This creates the problem of constant refinement and modernization of various drones." Samuel Bendett of the Center for Naval Analyses notes that decentralized manufacturing results in less-proven technology, while centralized military procurement ensures stability of performance. Rogers adds that the diversity of drones requires operators to have versatile skills to use them effectively. Ukraine plans to buy 4.5 million drones this year, focusing on volume over quality. Benjamin Jensen of the Center for Strategic and International Studies describes the drone industry in Ukraine as "almost like Lego," with different companies and operators pooling their expertise. Ukraine's need for drones is growing. Pislar notes that drones have already changed the way warfare is conducted, performing tasks such as mine-laying, casualty evacuation, and ground attacks. "Ukraine is trying to keep as many of its soldiers alive as possible, and one of the best ways to do that is to have as many drones as possible," adds one operator. http://youtube.com/kanal13az/join - click here and support Kanal13 monthly for distributing more videos and independent journalism http://t.me/kanal13tv & https://bit.ly/37BVMqU https://www.youtube.com/user/kanal13a... https://bit.ly/2Rs6MB3 #lastminutenewsfromukraine #kanal13ukraine https://bit.ly/2V19Fdy Click here and just subscribe to Kanal13 - https://www.youtube.com/user/kanal13a... https://www.youtube.com/KANAL13AZ/join *ATTENTION: If you woul like to contact with US please, write to +49176 75077516 WhatsApp ▌▌►Website: http://kanal13.tv/ / tvkanal13 / kanal13az / kanal13.az Click & Subscribe to the main youtube Channel © KANAL13 [ Azərbaycanın ilk peşəkar internet televiziyası ] The First Internet TV of Azerbaijan Tags: #Ukriane, #Russia, #Putin, #Putler, #Russian invasion of Ukraine, #Zelenski, #Kiev, #Kyiv, #Kadirov army, #Kadirov, #Kherson, #Bucha, #Kharkiv, #Ukrainian pilots, #vagners, #Russian tanks, #NATO, #drones, #Moscow, #Kreml, #war victims #Ukraina, News, The Washington Post, waPo Video, Washington Post Video, Washington Post YouTube, a:politics, aid, biden, putin, s:Politics, support, t:Other, Ukraine, war, fact check, news coverage, Donald Trump, news, wp video, forbes, nytimes, newspaper, media, journalism, Ilham Aliyev, Baku, Azerbaijan, Israel, Gaza, Palestine, Tel-Aviv, Garabag, Karabakh, football, ronaldo, messi, brian tyler cohen
