Recently, support was added for the Casio MT-540 and CT-460 keyboards and the CSM-1 MIDI module to ScummVM, a program that allows you to run old games on modern computers. These Casio devices were originally supported by several games from Sierra and Accolade and if you play them using ScummVM, you can now also make use of these devices for sound. This video showcases music produced by the CSM-1 for several games. These devices are quite a bit more limited than the more commonly supported Roland MT-32. They can use only 4 MIDI channels (vs. 9 for the MT-32) and 30 instruments (128 on the MT-32). Supported MIDI features are very limited; it can basically only play notes. The drums generally do not sound very good on this unit, but most of the other instruments are quite nice. In contrast to the MT-32 it actually has a decent acoustic piano (which you can hear on the Colonel's Bequest and Larry 3 tracks). It also has some nice built-in sound effects (check out the waves on Iceman - Beach). 0:00 Introduction 0:30 Codename: Iceman - Titles 2:12 Codename: Iceman - Beach 2:46 Codename: Iceman - Bar 1 4:49 Conquests Of Camelot - Titles 5:46 Conquests Of Camelot - Merlin 7:27 Colonel's Bequest - Copy protection 8:47 Colonel's Bequest - Cast 9:43 Colonel's Bequest - Park 10:50 Leisure Suit Larry 3 - Jungle 12:20 Leisure Suit Larry 3 - Casino 14:41 Elvira - Titles 16:59 Elvira - Capture
