COMP 40th Anniversary Gala Dinner cum Distinguished Alumni Award Presentation Ceremony (5 Nov 2014)

The dinner started with speeches by Prof. Timothy W. Tong, President of PolyU , Prof. H. C. Man, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Jiannong Cao, Head of the Department of Computing and Mr. Daniel Lai, BBS, JP, Government Chief Information Officer, with compliments and blessings delivered to our department. Afterwards, the “COMP Distinguished Alumni Awards” were presented to six outstanding alumni with great achievements and contributions to the department, industry and community. The awardees were Mr Chow Chok Kee Horace, Mr Lam Bing Kuen Paul, Dr Leung Ping Hung Karl Richard, Dr Chuang Siu Nam, Mr Lee Chi Hung Edmund, and Ms Huang Qing. In order to recognize the excellent contributions to the department, industry and the community, a special “COMP Honorary Alumni Award 2014” was presented to Mr Daniel Lai, BBS, JP, Government Chief Information Officer. The dinner was filled with exciting moments with performance of face-changing, followed by the music performance of the band “Autumn Water” from our department’s Society of Computer Studies (SCS). Prof. Tong was exhilarated by the passions of the band and improvised with them. The dinner ended in joy and cheers.
