In a PTI Exclusive, actor Konkona Sensharma said that while the #MeToo movement brought meaningful change, many accused individuals continue to flourish without consequences. Sensharma stars in Accused, directed by Anubhuti Kashyap, where she plays a London-based doctor facing allegations of workplace sexual misconduct. The Netflix film explores how accusations, scrutiny, and public perception reshape personal and professional lives. Calling the situation “unfortunate,” Sensharma pointed to the Justice Hema Committee report as a major outcome of the movement but questioned its societal impact. “We can see so many of them thriving… A lot depends on us as a society — who we choose to work with, whose work we watch,” she said. Kashyap said the film aims to continue conversations initiated by #MeToo, highlighting that systemic improvements like Internal Complaints Committees (ICCs) and safer workplace structures were important gains. She added that Accused offers an unusual lens by making a woman the accused. Actor Pratibha Ranta praised survivors’ courage to speak up, noting that institutional mechanisms have helped amplify voices. Produced by Dharma Productions, Accused premieres on Netflix on February 27. #KonkonaSensharma #Accused #MeToo #AnubhutiKashyap #PratibhaRanta #NetflixIndia #Bollywood #WorkplaceHarassment #Cinema #PTIExclusive #PTINews #PTIVideos #PressTrustOfIndia Subscribe to PTI's YouTube channel for in-depth reports, exclusive interviews, and special visual stories that take you beyond the headlines. #PTIVideos PTI News : ptinews.com PTI Fact Check : ptinews.com/factcheck/factcheck.aspx PTI X (formerly Twitter): https://x.com/PTI_News PTI Instagram: / ptinews_multimedia PTI Facebook: / presstrustofindia
