How to book LTL Freight for Flatbed and Stepdecks. @ 833cost per mile Have you considered getting away from full truckload and looking at the LTL partial market? Running a flatbed war, a step deck trailer you might be able to put three or four loads on the trailer Play and explain to you what I did when I first started running over the road. I didn’t have a 48 or 53 foot trailer. I have a 28 foot flatbed and a 26 foot tilt bed trailer. It worked out to be a great combination. I was living in Washington state at the time I would come out of there at 94,000 pounds I had partial frayed on as I headed south to Texas. I would drop off the heavy loads pick up the light loads and that way I was more than legal when I got to Texas. to learn more about this listen to this video. And to get the best out of running any LTL a partial freight whether it’s van flatbed step deck you really need to use both DAT and Truckstop. I would get on both websites and search the partial and LTL loads for flatbed step decks and hotshots coming out of the area that you’re in. Once I had found a couple loads I am interested in off the DAT board. I would then switch to Internet Truckstop The reason for Internet, Truckstop is that you can do a corridor search What a card or search does is it allows you to put in the pick up delivery location on the final destination. You can then set a radius along that route that you’re willing to get off to pick up another load I would normally put 300 miles. What will this will now show you is all of the loads between point a and point B pick up and deliver within 300 miles of your route. This can make your life so easy and give you so much more opportunity to be able to fill your trailer and keep it full. The reason that I pulled the two trailers was because most military loads and a lot of other loads require a dedicated trailer. A lot of the time that load my only take up 20 feet of 24 feet of your trailer. The rest of it is empty So by having two trailers, I would put that dedicated load on with Travel Trailer it fit on and then I could still load the second trailer Many times this made my loads very profitable because I was already getting a good rate for hauling one what they considered full load and then I could pick up a partial or even possibly another small load that was considered a full load to go on the second trailer. Some of you guys are going to have to change your thinking but in today’s economy in January 2023 I believe we’re all in survival mode. Those of us that are willing to adapt be creative and a little extra work will be the ones that will still be here in a few months to reap the benefits of most of the other guys going out of business ~-~~-~~~-~~-~ Please watch: "DAT Trend Line, Predicts, Dry Van Load Rate, Reefer Load Rate , Flatbed Load Rate" • DAT Trend Line, Predicts, Dry Van Load Rat... ~-~~-~~~-~~-~
