This is a three-piece act fractured between New York, New Jersey and Korea, which has forged a staggering debut, not only unearthing their past, but crafting it as a wonderful chimeric beast. This trio created their untamed and necrotic black metal quite close to the Finnish and French black metal traditions, capturing the melancholic hostility of acts as Seigneur Voland, Satanic Warmaster and Peste Noire, while tempering its sonic bleakness with the triumphant vigour of traditional heavy metal. Yet, the best part of this demo likely lies in its profound lyrical content. Its abrasion is woven into the poignant verses of Korean independence activists such as 윤동주 (Yun Tongju) and 이육사 (Yi Yuksa), where beneath the brutal yoke of Japanese colonial rule, these texts are transformed from ink-stained grief into a weaponised sonic vengeance, a meditation on the dichotomy of the human spirit.
