Around 1985 Area Sole Band made a stylistic change and the record "Go Fun k" was an expression of their musical evolution. In 1981 ASB won a competition at the famous Parisian rock club Golf Drouot. From then on and over the years, they developed a close friendship with the Congolese band Soul Mambo (then called "Zaire"). Through them ASB got to know and appreciate black music, its rhythms and grooves. After 10 years of existence, the band broke up.
