On today’s episode I continue our Black History Month Series with a selection from our ‘Black Americans of Achievement’ collection. I learned just a little bit about Sojourner Truth, an antislavery activist who also fought for women’s rights. One of the biggest takeaways I got was that we have no excuse for our lack of execution. She could neither read, nor write and yet became a published author! So don’t you dare come around me saying you can’t be a writer or you’ll never be able to write those essays or there’s so much stacked against you that there’s no way you could be an author! All I’m going to say to you is one name: Sojourner Truth!
