Most of us have commonly heard people say things like, "Every woman undergoes period pain, you should get used to it" or even worse, "I've never seen anyone be so unstable around the time of their periods, then what is the matter with you?" No two women in the world are born the same then why do we generalize one's lived experiences? Ms. Sonal Jain talks about the experiences that she has lived with which revolve around her menstrual health. She explains how every experience is unique; how all the information that we are fed with needs to be reassessed, and that every experience is valid and urges all of us to question fiercely, frequently, and with compassion to find the power in our lived experiences. Sonal Jain (Co-Founder, Boondh) is a Menstrual Health Advocate and lives with PCOS & PMDD. She has been an MHH (Menstrual Health & Hygiene) facilitator since 2013. Her previous work includes facilitating teams for World Merit UK in the space of environmental sustainability and education. She is a Laureate Global Fellow 2018, a World Merit fellow 2015, and a recipient of Microsoft YouthSpark Challenge for Change -Global Award 2015, among other prestigious international fellowships. Her work on SDG 12 was presented at the UN in New York City in 2016. Her everyday activities include empowering conversations and living mindfully. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
