Kreutzer Etude #11 Kim Kaloyanides Kennedy, violin Recorded at home February 2021 Since teaching via zoom, I have had to get creative with how to share sound goals. I have been doing a lot of recording examples for scales, arpeggios, pieces and now etudes. Kreutzer Etude #11: This etude is EXCELLENT for smooth shifts under slurs and intonation where different fingers play the exact same note side by side before and after that "smooth" shift. It is soooo easy for it to be tight, full of bumps and earthquakes and canyons, and of course very easy to be out of tune. This etude is rather beautiful and I think of it almost like a lullaby. I often tell my students to imagine putting a baby to sleep and trying to keep that baby asleep the entire time. Don't do anything that could disturb the precious little one.
