This is a clip about geopolymers. When mixing, use some PPE the alkaline solution is no joke and the acid isnt a joke either!!! Use some googles or karma will hit you hard! An eye lost is an eye lost. Recipe 1l water 60g Natroncarbonate / Washing soda 80g dry Slaked lime 160g Limestone prefrably with a high content in silica, some kind of "nummulite limestone" gives very good results. You can take modern Metakaolin750 too. That comes with a Al-Si-O chains to. Mix the water with the natronsalt, information not all natronsalts sold work we had to source 2 to get one working. IDK why amybe the first batch was somewhat unclean made. After you mixed the natronsalt into the water add the slaked lime to it. Stir it good let rest aside. Take the 1liter solution and add 160g of lime stone powder or metakaolin to it. Mix that stuff very good for a minimum of 10 min at a slow rpm. 250 rpm is good. Dont work it into a foam, because bubbles dont add strength. When you mixed the stuff for 10min add +- 1kg of limestonegravel to it. Mix that very well to. Let the stuff rest so some water can evaporate. Then fill it into a mold, and hammer it into the mold with a wooden mallet. Not like a moron... just so it is made dense. Some kind of quardatic shape wood box works well. Then let it rest/harden for 1 month. Yes one month. Keep it protected from rain. It should dry naturaly so the limestone geopolymer matrix can develope slowly. Slow is good - good is slow. Recipe for phosphoracid geopolymer: 100g Wollstonite CaSiO3 100g Phosphoricacid 44% Mix that for 2-3 minutes and it will set in about 5min. You can overmix it and it should, accordingly to mentioned research in Davidovit book, become almost liquid. That liquid ceramic paste can be poured. We dint get that working maybe we did something wrong. Test it and repport here. Prefrably we let the PAcid sit for 54h in a container filled with Vermiciculite or Perlite. Just take a acid proof hdpe container pour the acid in over the Vermiciculite and let it sit for 54h then strain the liquid from the cravel. Attention it is acid and the Vermiciculite is floating on the acid. So best practise is to use a big sieve. And by any means use glooves! Phosphoric acid is not fun under the fingernails... Why are we doing this to the PAcid? Because then we take the acid some force. When you mix the Wollstonite with unrested Pacid it will foam like crazy and the hardened foam will be brittle. BUT when the PAcid is settled down the foaming is way less. Best of luck get the book! =) Most metaloxides work but not all... ZnO, MgO, CaO, FeO4 and others work...
