Continuing to test a new VHS/SVHS/ "Tape other than betacamSP" workflow that I think we're going to move forward with when editing video. I didn't have josh do full color correction on this one as the entire video workflow is a work in process and we'll likely be circling back to hit these again That said, I'm personally loving the results of the newer methods I'm using to edit these AUD shot videos from VHS and similar transfers, a lot more detail is coming through and they tend to look pretty well polished. Youtube premium users will probably notice it more (because premium gets higher bitrate video) Deinterlaced with the same method i've been using for a few years, custom script, plenty of DNR used, some weird tricks using temporal data to retain detail.. original video was 480i 720x480. This is now 1440x1080 progressive and (using motion vectors) is correct in aspect ratios and I did keep this at 29.97 fps intentionally for youtube instead of going 60p because I'm doing some tests with how much better "enhanced bitrate 1080p" works (which only works with 30fps and not 60fps video) Laid the same audio back on this because it already had charlie's SBD. 2nd set coming real soon. Still testing. We have some big announcements coming up once I make a few decisions on how to proceed with this kind of footage moving forward. :) All post-production work on this after the VHS transfer was performed by Josh Davis and Christopher Hazard March 15 2024 Thanks to Charlie Miller for providing most of the goods to put this together.
