In April/May 2020, Corona SDK became a fully open-source 2D game engine under the MIT licence, and with it rebranded the engines name to become Solar2D. Which I think is really cool, given its purpose is to run Lua (meaning Moon) code. In this tutorial, I talk you through a PC based download and installation (with reference to where to find MAC tools and features). Where to find information to check your computer's specifications against, to ensure it has enough va-va-voom under the hood to handle the Solar2D Console and Simulator. For newbies and kid's struggling to understand this platforms use/purpose, I use the metaphor of a car workshop/garage, where everything is built and tested in a safe environment.
