He's been drumming since the age of 5, with the guidance of his teacher Marty Ludwig. He adores contemporary jazz, funk, fusion and electronic genres. His music interests were raised by Brian Culbertson, Candy Dulfer and Kool & the Gang... The drummers who inspired and motivated Gelly are Anika Nilles, Chris Coleman, Ricky Lawson, Kaz Rodriguez, Chris Miskel, Tony Royster Jr, Matt McGuire and of course his drum teacher Marcell Gudics and Norbi Balogh. Raffael, at present 14 years old, comes from Carinthia, the south of Austria. He plays saxophone since he was 8 years old, with the guidance of his teacher Richard Pusavec. Music is his greatest passion. He loves playing jazz, funk, fusion and any music that touches him. Raffi's musicial influences and idols are Candy Dulfer, Thorsten Skringer, Gregor Bürger, Eric Marienthal, Eric Darius, Michael Lington, Mindi Abair, Cannonball Adderley, Dexter Gordon, Maceo Parker, Michael Brecker, David Sanborn, Joshua Redman, Bob Berg, Charly Parker, and of course his present saxophone professor Michael Erian.
