I watched MK Annihilation when I was just 11 or 12 years old—I had seen the first movie, and I was catching up on the sequel about two years later when one of my friends told me he had a bootleg copy. At first, I thought he was joking, because I wasn’t even aware Mortal Kombat 2 had already released, and I’d been eagerly waiting for it! When I finally watched it back in the day, I was pissed that Johnny Cage dies in the first few minutes, and then I noticed the completely changed cast. I was loving all the fight scenes and everything, but somehow—even at that age—I felt like everything was watered down. At one point the movie felt so good, then again, the acting, choreography, and writing were pretty bad, and oh my gosh, the VFX!
