Preveli beach is about 40 kilometers south of the city of Rethymnon at the south coast of Crete. The beach is famous becouse of the river called "Megapotamos" flows through the gorge creating a lagoon that is surounded with palms before meet the Lybian sea and this makes the landscape extraordinary beautiful as you can see in video as well. The beach you can visit by boat from Plakias or Agia Galini or drive there through the Kourtaliotis gorge visit the monastery of Preveli see the international monument of resistance finish at the parking at the top of the gorge,there you can park your vehicle (cost 2 euro) walk down the stairs till the beach and enjoy the nice view of the lagoon,palms and the crystal clear water of the beach,it might looks difficult but it is not and definately worth it.
