The Danish Pipe Shop - Legacy of Service

The Danish Pipe Shop was acquired by Steffen Nielsen in 1969, and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2019. Mr. Nielsen passed the shop to his son Nikolaj Nielson, the current CEO & Manager, who grew up among the pipes and pipe makers of his father’s generation. I first stumbled on The Danish Pipe Shop in 2012 while visiting Copenhagen. I was in search of a few more pipes and was immediately impressed by Nikolaj’s customer service and the pristine layout of his shop. So while planning a trip to film the Ivaarson family in 2014, we scheduled a brief stop in the shop to catch an interview and some footage. We were there for no more than two hours, but the story was very moving and well worth bringing to light. Since 2014, the shop has moved 400 meters from the original location to Vester Voldgade 92 1552 Copenhagen V. The new location not in this film has room for more pipe displays, shipping and receiving and a smoking lounge.
