This week’s The Week That Was update is a good one, with a few solid milestones ticked off. The biggest win is that Octans and Phoenix observatories are now in final-mile shipping and heading out to their new homes. After a long road to get here, it’s a huge relief to see them finally landing with customers. Jess and Brendan also take a moment to thank everyone for their patience and support over the past year. Brendan also shares progress on the carbon fibre F/4 system, with the mirrors, spider vanes and camera installed and final balance work underway ahead of first light. Work continues on the RC as well, with Dan and Brendan spending time refining the Starpoint Control Panel interface, fan behaviour and dew management logic. With NEAF fast approaching, planning and preparation are ramping up behind the scenes, alongside ongoing workshop and system testing. As always, clear skies wherever you are, and we’ll see you next week.
