Surfcasting for striped bass. Follow along with me to the San Francisco Ocean beach areas on my annual spring fishing adventure. Starting in early May 2025, striped bass fishing, catching has been very good from the local San Francisco beach areas, with many of the stripers done with spring spawning in the Sacramento River basin and headed back through northern San Francisco Bay and into the Pacific Ocean. The 2025 spring weather has been atrocious in the San Francisco Bay area, feeling more like winter. During my 15-day fishing trip, high winds averaging 15-30mph, surf with 5-7' wave height & high energy pounding the shores day in & day out, make for some challenging fishing in the foam & surf. The fierce onshore winds have my kayak fishing halibut in South San Francisco Bay grounded. This year 2025, the spring catching for halibut is very, slow. Been skunked 2x in early May, never skunked on keeper halibut before in the past 5 years. Thus shifted my attention to fishing the striped bass fishing on the ocean beaches, when surf & wind conditions allow. / @mavhntr _________________________________________________________________________________________________ HASH TAG SEARCH: #stripedbass #stripedbassfishing #surfcasting #beachfishing #howtocatchstripedbass #oceanbeachfishing #oceanbeach #sanfrancisco #sanfranciscofishing #sanfranciscobayarea #fishing #fishingtechniques #fishingtips ________________________________________________________________________________________________ PRODUCT LINKS USED IN THE VIDEO: Maven C1 Monocular 8x32mm: https://amzn.to/43xAjga Shimano Saragoza 5000 SW-A Spinning Reel: https://amzn.to/3SmCWfv Shimano Saragoza 6000 SW-A Spinning Reel: https://amzn.to/3SUasKd Okuma Surfcasting-spinning Rod: https://amzn.to/3Zwrzp5 Power-Pro Braided #50 Main fishing line: https://amzn.to/43NrDU0 Power-Pro Braided #30 fishing line: https://amzn.to/4mwiYN4 Lamiglas Surf Rod: https://amzn.to/3SoYbNN My Main Surfcasting Striper Rigs: Edge Rod, 9'-6", 10/30-lb test line, 1-3oz weight rating Shimano Saragoza 5000 Spinning Reel with Power-Pro 30-lb braid Braid to swivel, 30" of 40-lb fluorocarbon leader to lure quick change snap, Also use this setup for surf perch too. Their volunteers, pet fosters, & veterinarians do great work in placing stray Labrador doggies, rescuing Labs of all ages from dog pounds and kill centers, and find the dogs great homes to live out their lives. My Lab Luna, featured in some videos, is a rescued Lab dog from these lifesaving groups, doing God's work. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Thank you for watching, appreciate your comments and helping out this old outdoorsman with my little YouTube channel that my grandsons (4) enjoy so much.
