I picked up a budget factory electric bike recently and got it together and charged up. I took it for a short ride after my friends took it for a spin before I got to spin. I had been meaning to really try it out and put together a little review of the new bike and just got too busy. When I bought it, I found NO product reviews of this particular model when I ordered it. I owned one other model of this brand of eBike which I like. I will omit the unpacking and putting it together. There are plenty of other of those on other models from this manufacturer. The new eBike is the Jasion YM1. It's not not marked Jasion as my earlier model, a folding EB3 which I really like. This is simply listed on Amazon as the Jasion Electric Bike For Adults with 750 Peak Motor, 40Miles(PAS1) 22 Max Speed, 27.5 inch Tires Electric Mountain Bike. It's a 48 Volt 500 Watt (750 Peak) brushless motor with an honest 22 MPH top speed in PAS 5. Jasion states it can reach 40 miles range in PAS 1. I suppose that is true. My other eBikes will get pretty good range when you don't make much demands on the battery. I set out today to put it to a test ride see what it could do first throttle only and then with pedal assist. I put about 5 miles on the bike today. It has a decent adjustable front fork with a damper lock which works pretty well. I didn't tinker with it. Front and rear disc brakes work good. the bike stops when you need ti. It's a clean, good looking bike. It's a 7 speed which is quite adequate. Front and rear fenders do the job. It has a 10 Ah (480 Wh) 48 volt removeable battery which they call a "removeable large battery" which I would consider adequate. The second part of my ride was riding it in PAS 5 with pedal assist. It gave my legs something to do and was pleasant and did the job. I got to assist in the ride just like it's supposed to do. I wonder how much more range you would get in pedal assist PAS 5 before you were pedaling home. I don't do range tests on my electric bikes. I will leave that for the others. My final impression for a budget bike like the Jasion MY1 27.5" 48 Volt 500 Watt electric mountain bike for around $500 with shipping and sales tax? I agree with other online reviews of comparable full sized adult Jasion models. I had no issues with the quality of the product. The packaging from Jasion is solid and considerate and my bike arrived well protected. Two thumbs up in my opinion. I am happy with the purchase. I assume this bike will ride in my next Skunk Works IV Night Ride piloted by one of my guests who doesn't have their own ride. Thanks for watching!
