The landscape of what was to become Nampa in Canyon County was changed forever when the Railroad made its way through. The sagebrush-covered ground was cleared and leveled so tracks could be laid, and Nampa became one of the many towns that sprang up along the tracks. Many businesses also began to grow from the small population of 799 people in 1900 to over 100,000 in 2020. Nampa is just a 20 min drive from the Boise Metropolitan area and is the 3rd largest city in Idaho. Businesses have continued to find Nampa as a great place to open. The first-ever indoor mall of Treasure Valley was built in 1965 and now many shopping areas are around the Nampa area. In 2020 Amazon built a large fulfillment center which added jobs in the area. Two different major hospitals have been built in the last few years and have some of the best medical care around. Some of the great agricultural areas have given way to new businesses, newer subdivisions with many parks and recreation centers.
