A video from my recent family trip to Orkney and the now-closed Fernvalley Wildlife Centre. This was a really special visit for us, and I wanted to edit the footage I took as a tribute to such a lovely place. It was heartbreaking to hear that Fernvalley has now closed its doors. It was a beautiful place that did so much good for the animals on Orkney. I was so glad I brought my old Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera with me on this trip, along with a few of my favourite vintage lenses. The camera's Super 16 sensor and the unique characteristics of the old glass gave me the perfect tools to capture a look that feels both cinematic and full of nostalgia. This video is a little bit of a time capsule—a final glimpse of the centre as my family and I experienced it. It's my way of honouring the people and the animals that made it so special.
