My lovely wife, Pam, has been making some amazing washable face masks for my son's emergency room staff at a local hospital. The biggest technical hurdle has been finding a flexible metallic material for the nosepiece of the masks that won't rust and has the correct stiffness characteristics to allow it to be easily bent to shape, but not lose it's shape easily. The video demonstrates how you can easily use 17 gauge aluminum electric fence wire that has been flattened with a hammer to form the near perfect non-rust aluminum nosepiece for these washable face masks. This aluminum nosepiece has the correct stiffness to bend easily around the bridge of the nose, and not easily lose its shape over time. Having a contoured fit of the face mask around the bridge of the nose will not only prevent glasses from fogging, but will also create a tighter seal of the face mask around the nose to lessen the risk of bacteria or virus particles entering the inside of the mask, and also lessen the risk of exhaled droplets from your mouth from exiting the confines of the mask. The total time to make one aluminum face mask nosepiece is about one minute. The 17 gauge aluminum generally comes in a spool as small as 250 foot and is readily available at hardware stores and on amazon.com for about $14. https://www.amazon.com/Fi-Shock-FW-00...
