LOOK: Chess players battle it out underwater in Dutch Diving Chess World Championships | ANC

A new world champion has been crowned in diving chess, a hybrid sport that combines swimming and chess as players must hold their breath and dive underwater to play out a game on the bottom of a pool. Former Dutch Diving Chess Champion Zyon Kollen emerged from the pool as the men’s champion while 17-year-old Josephine Damen, also of the Netherlands, was crowned women’s world champ.
