Graham Deggs Pages / eyeupaerialsolutions https://www.eyeup.camera/ Grahams Actual comment to me and the Regulations State: Article 4 o f the IR requires the use of drones belonging to one of the classes set out in the Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/945. This is the "EASA" regulation which makes no mention of "UK based assessment bodies" or such crap. If they want us to use drones marked via a UK assessment body then they need the IR to refer to the DR as amended by The Unmanned Aircraft (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020. Also Note: as the DFT haven't give the CAA a definitive answer after the open category consultation, UK will adopt the EU regulation and C class framework, which means the C classified drones applicable in the UK. This however could change should the DFT make an announcement on any changes in the near future. Remember the Dft can make changes at anytime and the CAA just implements them... Erm.... These specify the drones that can be used in the Open Category. And here’s the kicker, they specify that the drones must comply with (EU) 2019/945 - see article 4 1.(a) below. Note, that this could (and probably should) have been amended to (EU) 2019/945 as amended by the EU Exit regs...but no. So the Implementing Regs appear to force the use of Euro C1 drones but does not include those cleared by our own set of regs.
