A work visa programme for foreigners employed in the US, known as H-1B, has come under massive criticism from the US administration under President Donald Trump. Members of his administration feel that the visa robs Americans of local jobs by allowing foreigners, who are paid lower wages, to take their place. Indians are the biggest beneficiaries of the H-1B system with a high percentage of these visas being allocated to Indians.
