I've heard great things about overwintering pepper plants and I plan on experimenting with the idea this year. To make that a bit easier and to expand my container growing - I will be planting at least one of each variety in a container. So I started with one of my favorites - the Carolina Reaper, now time for the Primo 7 Pot Pepper. For peppers in general to reach their full potential, you will need at least a 5 gallon container. All containers need drainage, so don't forget to add holes. The bottom layer should be rocks or gravel to aid in drainage. I follow that with a layer of compost and then a layer of bark. {Hugelkulture is the best!). I wet it down and then top it with regular soil. Then I add the plant, trimmed and cleaned so that it can be buried deep, The rest of the container is filled with a sand & soil mixture. I prefer a 1 part sand to 2 part soil mix. I add my watering system beside the pepper as well. Then it is ready to go to it's new home. Primo 7 Pot Peppers like full sun so pick a good spot. You will also want to think of potential support, once it really takes off. #gardeninghomesteadingskills #gardening #vegetables #pepper #primosevenpotpeppers #containergardening #homesteading #ragnarokshomesteading
