The Prince of Wales visits Portico, the newly refurbished arts and heritage centre in Portaferry, formerly known as Portaferry Presbyterian Church. One lucky lady even got to shake his hand, Kathleen Mullan from Portaferry was waiting outside on the Prince leaving, she shouted out,' Welcome to Portaferry, Prince Charles!' Prince Charles walked over to greet Kathleen and stopped and had a chat with her about her local town and family. Kathleen Mullan said: “I was not expecting that, I was only trying to get a snap photo. He was lovely, and he had the loveliest handshake. “I felt like putting my arms round him only I was scared of the Police maybe lifting me, I am so excited.”
