Surviving a brain aneurysm: Kenny & Naomi's story

In March 2023, we shared the story of 38 year old Kenny Mathai who suffered a brain aneurysm. It seemed that the odds were against him, his wife Naomi was told that he had just a 0.5% chance of survival and that her husband might never be able to speak, walk or feed himself ever again. Kenny moved to Bupa's Wingham Court Neurological Care Home where his long road to recovery began. The staff became like family to Kenny and Naomi, always there to offer support, share in successes and be a shoulder to lean on during such a testing time. Fast forward to 2024, Kenny has come leaps and bounds in his recovery, from being able to pull himself up into a standing position, to sending emails to his wife, opening up a whole new world of communication for the couple. Back in 2023, everyone's greatest wish was to see Kenny go home with Naomi and their two daughters, and with the support of Wingham Court Staff, Kenny is set to be doing just that next year! #Healthcare #BupaStories
