Blackfriars is a London terminus, and perhaps the only station in London to span both sides of the river Thames. The station is located on a bridge over the Thames, with large glass windows either side letting natural light into the station. But that's not my favourite part - a station with glass windows over the Thames leads to some incredible panoramic views across London, with many landmarks visible just from the station including the Shard, St Pauls Cathedral and Tower Bridge to name a few. I visited Blackfriars on a grey Saturday morning, with all the usual variety and destinations from Thameslink, using their Class 700 units. Southeastern also operate from the station during peak times, but unfortunately I wasn't able to get a shot of one of these trains. Blackfriars is definitely worth a visit, even if trainspotting's not really your thing. The views really add something to the station and it's more than pleasant to travel through.
