To address this challenge, we propose NeuroTaste, a novel wearable device that simulates taste sensations directly on the tongue using safe electrical stimulation, without the need to consume actual food. NeuroTaste is designed as a compact, hygienic mouthpiece embedded with a micro-electrode array that stimulates taste buds via low-frequency electrical currents. By targeting specific papillae, the device can replicate the five basic taste sensations: sweet, salty, sour, bitter, and umami. Controlled via a smartphone application, users can select and adjust taste experiences based on personal preferences, dietary goals, or medical advice. The system is designed to be customizable and adaptable to each user’s sensory profile and health conditions.
