Inoculation Using The Oven Method

Using The Oven Method This method works well but may be frowned upon because people don't trust it. I use this method still. First you want to turn off your A/C or heater and make sure the windows and doors are shut. The purpose of that is to prevent any kind of air movement in the room. Than spray the oven well inside and out with lysol or disinfectent, allow to dry by leaving the oven door open. Than turn your oven to 375 for 20 minutes which will sanitize it than lower temperature to 325 - 350 for 10 minutes. Put a carboard or something flat on the rack and extend the rack as far as it goes. Prepare for proper sanitation procedures and take jars and innoculate close to the open oven than set jars aside. Watch proper sanitation procedure video to make sure it is followed; this is the most important part.
