Snowboard History Rip Curl Presents The Battle 2005 Falun Sweden with Terje Haakonsen,

Rip Curl and Flow present The Battle to us as one of the most progressive and innovative snowboarding events of our time, which will take place on March 18 and 19 in Falun, Sweden. More than 30 top-riders from around the world will participate in this year's competition under the new “Nations' Cup of Snowboarding” format. Some true snowboarding legends will meet there such as: Terje Haakonsen , Ingemar Backman , Steve Gruber, Andy Finch , Markku Koski , Quintin Robins, Marcus Wherle, Russell Holt, Jakob Kioa and many others. The Battle has a unique format for its innovative judging and scoring system and competition formats. An event made by riders for riders. Eleven teams are participating in the competition , representing each country: Sweden, Finland, Norway, France, Germany, Austria, the United States, Canada, Japan and New Zealand. Each team consists of a captain chosen by Jacob Söderqvist, creator of The Battle, and two more team riders . The best team is awarded the ultimate Battle trophy , the best rider obtaining a Ticket to Ride for the Artic Challenge
