Hungarian Grand Prix: What General Admission is like at the Hungaroring F1 🏁 Flying to Budapest is pretty straight forward (so long as you don’t fly on the day the internet crashed as we did!) Tip 1: There is a free shuttle bus from Kerepes station - very frequently throughout the day. Next door to an ALDI too which is great for stocking up on food/water! Tip 2: The shuttle arrives at Gate 2 which is at turn 11. Great views of the circuit. Tip 3: If you come with General Admission tickets, you can get anywhere between turn 6 and turn 14. (You can also get behind the grandstand on the outside of the pit straight, there is a fanzone here and food outlets, but no GA views of the track) Tip 4: If you want to be able to see a screen with General Admission tickets, sit at turn 6, turn 12 or on the hill at turn 14. Tip 5: We preferred turn 6 - if you can sit high enough you can see turn 1 at the top of the hill (where most overtakes happen) and then pretty much most of turns 4 to 10. You can watch an f1 car for about 35 seconds from here (not far off half the track time!) Tip 6: The hilltop at turn 14 is very popular - and very crowded. There are some awesome viewing positions even with general admission, but get there SUPER EARLY if you want to go here. Tip 7: Don’t eat anything with meat at the circuit unless you brought it yourself. Everything is made early - and then sits there all day. You’ll spot mountains of hamburgers that were cooked hours ago! Tip 8: Expect to pay around €25-30 euros fo a taxi / Uber if you want to get to Kerepes Station from Budapest - or from the airport to Budapest - or the airport to Kerepes Station… (For the free shuttle) and this triangle of journeys last around 20 minutes each way However trains are very very cheap at around €2 but will take you a bit longer. Tip 9: Explore Budapest! You can’t come all this way and not look around the beautiful ancient and vibrant city Tip 10: Get yourself to the area on the outside of turn 12 and 14 at the end of the race (be quick) and you’ll get the chance to be on the track for the podium ceremony!
