EXTREMELY RARE | DC-10 Takeoff Helsinki Airport | Omega Air Tanker McDonnell Douglas DC-10-40

Please Read! Omega Air McDonnell Douglas DC-10-40 at Helsinki Airport!! In continuation of my previous video here's Omega Air's DC-10 tanker which brought two Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornets to Finland for Helsinki Air Show and a few other events. This aircraft's visit was something really special as I never thought I would ever even get to see a DC-10. These old beauties are already really rare especially here in Europe and this particular aircraft is the last active DC-10-40. Only 42 DC-10-40s were built from 1973 to 1983 and they were delivered to Japan Airlines and Northwest Orient Airlines. Catching this one flying wasn't easy at all... The N974VV arrived on the 7th of June unexpectedly with two Super Hornets from Prestwick. It stayed on the ground in Helsinki till the next morning when it took off for a six-hour flight over the Central Finland making 239 air refuelling contacts. I missed both the first landing and take off but then tried to catch N974VV land after this six-hour flight. I was there at the right time but of course in the wrong place and only managed to film the touch down on the parallel runway 04L from 04R's threshold... And then began this waiting of several days and I spent six days at Helsinki Airport desperately trying to catch N974VV taking off. There wasn't any information about the departure date or time so I just tried to keep my eye on the DC-10... Then several days and early mornings later luck was finally on my side as the crew boarded N974VV today at noon. Then some more waiting and finally DC-10 spooled-up on EFHK's RWY 22R outbound to Prestwick accompanied by those same two Boeing Super Hornets.
