Farm to Folklore Adventure: Cat & Mouse

This is part 3 of a 4 part adventure. In October 2024, Miss Gumbo (aka Georgie), turned 12 years old! She definitely deserved a relaxing trip away from the stinky crew that allowed her to walk at her own pace and allowed her to fulfill her dream of meeting a horse. She first encountered a horse on a walk when she was young and sat down in awe instantly. She has never been able to cross paths with a horse since then, and we could never do any type of farm stay with the rest of the stinky crew because they are too reactive. So I searched on Hipcamp to try and find a great birthday trip for Gumbo. I was lucky enough to come across a place that was only a few hours away from us called Farm to Folklore, which claimed its farmstays were 'filled with mystery and wonder'. I never imagined that a campsite could be as magical and wondrous as Farm to Folklore. Gumbo is normally a very anxious dog, especially in new settings, and she was instantly happy at ease when she jumped out of her van into this site. I could tell she truly felt at home here. The site included a bed in a grapevine wagon, a functional kitchen space, a lounging area around a fire, a luxurious outhouse, and even a clawfoot tub. There were numerous pathways and trails to explore that had fairytale art to encounter along the way. There was an enchanting clearing to relax in and watch the horses, which instantly became Gumbo's favorite spot. We were able to leave normal life behind and became fully immersed in this relaxing, whimsical, mythical escape in the woods. Gumbo and I stayed at this site for 4 days and I have made a video for each day. I hope you find them a relaxing and peaceful escape and enjoy our adventure. I wanted better quality images of my baby girl Gumbo to remember her by, because dogs are only a part of our family for such a short time.
