TANKOA YACHTS UNVEILS THE NEW S520 MODEL: FRANCESCO PASZKOWSKI DESIGN RAISES THE BAR ONCE AGAIN When success is clear, it’s easy to rest on your laurels and bask in the achievement. But that’s not the approach taken by Italian shipyard Tankoa, which consistently keeps the needs of contemporary and future yacht owners at the forefront. Following the immense popularity of its previous 50-metre model, the S501, the renowned boatbuilder has unveiled an updated version of this best-seller: the S520. Developed by the celebrated Francesco Paszkowski Design studio, the new Tankoa S520 extends the platform of the S501 from 49.80 metres to 52 metres, while maintaining the same winning proportions of the previous model. Dynamic and Sporty Style A true head-turner on the water, thanks to its striking gun-metal grey hull, the S520’s refreshed exterior design draws from the success of the previous 50-metre model while maintaining its own distinct character. The unique shape of the wheelhouse glazing and the tension in the yacht’s profile lines – which slope downward from stern to bow – create a dynamic and sporty look on the water. Bigger, Better, Best One of the key differences between the S520 and the S501 is the substantial enhancement of the outdoor spaces. This includes a larger and more expansive sun deck – now featuring an infinity pool – an enlarged upper deck skylounge, and a bigger flybridge. The reason for these changes? To meet the needs of today’s owners and improve on-board functionality. Designer Francesco Paszkowski explains: “The new Tankoa S520 stands out for her outdoor spaces, which have become a top priority for yacht owners who enjoy open-air environments throughout the day. For this design, we created a longer and more functional flybridge, designed a completely reimagined stern – where the main deck, swim platform, and beach club connect seamlessly – and integrated functional elements into the design.” Stunning Stern Paszkowski has reimagined the stern of the S520 to create a seamless connection between the main deck, aft platform, and beach club, resulting in the ultimate beach club experience. This beautiful, light-filled space features flexible interiors that can be arranged for various purposes. It’s split across two levels and opens up onto two side platforms, offering unrivaled contact with the ocean for guests. With three light sources – a porthole facing the pool and two side portholes along the hull – this exceptional space also includes two sunbathing areas protected by glass, integrated into the hull’s exterior line, and allowing use even while cruising. On-Water Adventures The “functional elements” integrated into the S520 are numerous and cleverly incorporated. A standout feature is the crane for the tender at the bow, seamlessly integrated into the overall design rather than appearing as a separate technical component. The gangway is also built directly into the aft platform, greatly enhancing the liveability of the space. The staircases have been relocated to the port side, expanding the upper deck aft and creating a fully dedicated entertainment area. The forward section of the upper deck is solely dedicated to toy storage, perfect for the adventurous owners of today and tomorrow. Contemporary and Connected Inside, the collaboration between Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini – who previously worked together on the 58.5-metre Tankoa Diamond Binta – continues to deliver exceptional results. Boasting higher ceilings and larger windows than her predecessor, the architectural design by Paszkowski features overlapping panels and partitions that intentionally fragment the spaces for a modern, cohesive effect. On the main deck, the living and dining areas are separated by panels while still maintaining a unified feel. The owner’s suite includes a bedroom, lounge, study, walk-in wardrobe, and vanity area, all designed as independent yet connected spaces. The rounded shapes and materials throughout the yacht seamlessly link areas between floors and ceilings. Throughout the yacht, the carefully chosen materials tie the spaces together, with a subtle grey-toned color palette extending into the furnishings, reinforcing a strong visual connection between the interior and exterior.
